G'day, I purchased a Gen 1 brake some years ago to calm down my .30-06 Sprg in a T3 Lite. Initially I was apprehensive about a clamp on brake, all the stories of them getting blown off.
But it was not to be. The brake performed as advertised with big recoil reduction. I found the Gen 1 to heavy which upset the balance of the T3 Liteā¦a very light rifle.
So I purchased the Gen 11. It is a perfect match now. Recoil reduction is excellent bringing the .30-06 recoil down to .243 levels or less depending on what size projectiles you are using.
It has never been blown off. The Gen 1 and Gen 11 have never moved on the muzzle. Excellent product and works as advertised.
I put one on a .204 Ruger just for funā¦that now feels like a rimfire.
So if you don't want to get your muzzle threaded, try one.
